Fun Shower and Baby Stuff...

This past weekend I had a really fun shower at Emily's house thrown by Lindsey and Em.  It was a blast, and there were some UH-mazing cupcakes (Thank you Linz and Kelly).  Here are a few pictures of the festivities :)
Brad and I went and bought our travel system yesterday, and I put it together all by myself (you can just call me super mom), and I already tested it out.  I walked with it down to get the mail, and yes it will be possible to push the stroller and walk Lucy :)

We have ordered the diaper bag...I decided to go ahead and get this one from Pottery Barn.  I really really wanted it in black, but they only color they have left is Navy, so that's what we're getting...

Be expecting a post about Emery's room soon her bedding is done and her curtains are up...it is SO SO cute!! :)

I love this time of year...

And this is why...

And how cute are these little girls.  This is from their Q and U Wedding at school...since then Riley has also lost one of her front teeth too...cute, cute, cute!!!

Super Proud...

I remember being a little girl and wondering what my little brother Ben would look like when he grew up, what he would be like, and how we would get along.  I never imagined he would be this great.  I never imagined he would be one of my best friends.  I never imagined he would inspire me to be a better person.  I never even imagined he would be so handsome :)

Yesterday Ben won the Don Holliday Memorial Golf Scholarship which is the largest golf scholarship in Virginia (I think, but don't hold me to it).  I've known how great Ben is for a long time, but it was nice to see other people recognize it too.  I am SO SO proud of him.

I'm going to be honest and say I'm dreading the day he goes to Newberry, SC and he can't just pop in to say hello and steal a Dr. Pepper on his way home from work.  But, at the same time I cannot wait to see what God has planned for his life, I know he has AWESOME things in store for Ben, and that he will use him in BIG ways.  So, I will entrust my sweet baby brother into his hands, and wait to see all the places he'll go!!

This week I absolutely did not...

Okay guys pregnancy brain is such a real thing!!! Its absolutely positively making me STUPID lately!! haha I thought I would share with you some of the hilarious things that I have NOT done this past week...

I absolutely positively did not down a sweet tea and cinnamon biscuit from Bojangle's Wednesday morning, and then call and beg my brother to bring me yet another sweet tea and cinnamon biscuit the same morning (by the way thank you Benny Boy)

Oh, and I definitely didn't sit at the skating ring (during a field trip for the middle schoolers) and just wait for students to fall so I could laugh at them.  And I would never have encouraged some of the most uncoordinated of the bunch to attempt to skate because I knew their falls would be some of the most hilarious!!  And I definitely didn't laugh so hard at some of these hilarious falls that I ALMOST almost peed my pants :)

I did not walk through my house and about have a panic attack at the state of chaos, and have to call my Mom and have her convince me that I'm not going to be a terrible mother because I can't even manage to keep the laundry of TWO people under control.

I did not leave work one day, get in my car, and drive to my parents' house instead of my own house, get out of the car, and then wonder what the heck I was doing.

I most certainly did not get lost on the way to Staunton River for Brad's game (there are no turns required), and drive 20 minutes on the wrong road before I ever realized it, see only 10 minutes of the first half, and sit through that whole 10 minutes and about 45 minutes of a lightening delay thinking that they were tied, when in fact Byrd was winning 3-0...what the heck??!!  In my defense they did score all of their goals BEFORE I arrived, but yea I definitely didn't do that :)

Oh my goodness y'all I'm starting to wonder if I will EVER be remotely intelligent again!!

Baby Things...

I have been too tired to blog lately.  I know that sounds absolutely redic, but I feel like it is all I can do to get up, go to work, teach 6th and 7th graders all day, and then come home.  But, I thought I would show you some fun baby girl things that I am obsessed with at the current moment...

This is the baby book that I'm going to order for Emery.  It's Penny Laine, and I don't think they sell these anywhere around Roanoke, so I'm ordering it online.

I am also LOVING this website that my friend Katie introduced me too (she had an adorable baby girl, Maddie in March).  I can already picture my sweet baby girl in some of these :)

Oh Emery, your Daddy and I cannot wait for you to get here so we can dress you in all of these cute clothes and bows and hats, to kiss your cheeks, and hold you and squeeze you...not too much longer!!!

30 week check up...

Monday we had our 30 week appointment and 4D ultrasound.  My doctor said that everything looked great, and that Emery was doing awesome which is music to this little worrier's ears!!  It was so neat getting to see the 4D because we could actually see her facial features, and baby girl do you ever have my fat nose haha.  Love it!!  When we got home I told Brad I wish I could just take her out and hold her just for a little while, and put her back in to finish growing and developing (on second thought, maybe I shouldn't have just shared that with the entire world because now I sound like a creeper haha).  We didn't get very many good pictures, so I'm going to try to shmooze my way into getting another one next time I'm there :)

Family Baby Shower...

This past weekend I had my family baby shower at Grandbess's house.  Terri and Grandbess did a fabulous job...it was so much fun, and there was LOTS of yummy food :)  And a big thank you to Meredith (Ben's sweet girlfriend) for taking these pics for me to share with you!! I wish I would've thought to take pictures actually with people, but oh well as you all know I'd rather not display my picture all over the world wide web at 7 1/2 months pregnant...haha

Grandbess and C.B. were trying to convince me that cloth diapers would be a good idea to which I responded that Brad didn't even know cloth diapers were a possibility until last Saturday, so I better stick with disposable :) haha, But in their efforts to convince me they made me diaper the huge bear ha!  I was a champ though!!
Everyone there wrote down 5 traits that they think Emery will posses based on mine and Brad's personalities and baby pictures, and then they drew a picture of what she will look like...
Even Mom got presents!!
Very cute VT outfit from Terri and Brooke
Mom and Leslie (Meredith's Mom)
Opening gifts...
Granny, Betsy and Lauren
Penny, Jessica and Lisa
This cake was absolutely amazing, and super super cute!!
