Emery's First Shower...

Every Wednesday morning before school we have staff devotions. As you know, I am not a morning person, and that's putting it lightly. It would probably be more accurate to say that Brad drags me out of bed every morning just go to go work. But last night I was being a good teacher and remembered it was Tuesday night, so I needed to set my alarm early and go to devotions. And it was a GOOD thing I did because today during devotions my sweet school friends surprised me with a baby shower!! It was so fun!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the people that I work with! We had breakfast, and they got Emery and I so many cute things :)

My new school friend Santana...I am SO thankful for her!! She is a great person to teach with. I'm looking forward to next year :)

My sweet friends Lynn and Kim who got all of this together...I LOVE them!! I do not know what I would do without them here! We will miss you next year Kim!

The greatest principal in the entire world!! Erica is truly amazing, and also how cute is she??

Anna!!! Love her! She keeps me company while Brad is coaching all the time, I know I can count on her to be up for going to eat after work haha :)

Brad, Emery and I are blessed beyond measure! I know that coming back to work will be hard next fall, but I also know that working with such an amazing group of people will make the transition easier than normal.


 

Nursery Progress...

This weekend I was a busy busy girl working on Emery's room.  (I love saying that by the way.)  I washed all of her clothes, and have started to organize them.  I got a really cute/cheap idea from another blog on how to make closet dividers, and they turned out really really cute!!  And they were super easy!  Okay you seasoned Moms out there, how did you organize all of your baby clothes.  Did you hang most of them up, or did you put most of them in drawers, did you organize by month or by type of clothing?  Oh geeze, I get stressed thinking about how exactly to organize her stuff.

I've also started the canvas that will hang above the crib.  Normally I just dive right into things like this, but I am being really picky and cautious before I start it because I want it to be PERFECT!! Oh perfectionism...it just may be the death of me. 

On a slightly different note...I get to waste a day of my life Wednesday sitting in the doctor's office because little miss sweet tooth (aka yours truly) failed her glucose test BY ONE STINKIN POINT Friday!! Ugh...so frustrating.  My doctor assured me there's nothing to worry about and she's sure that I will pass the 3 hour test with flying colors, but just because of that one point it is mandatory that I do the next test.  I've done my very best to convince Brad to take a personal day and sit there in agony with me, but he claims to have a meeting that day...sure he does ;) 


Edit: I wrote this post a week and a half ago and since I'm a lazy pregnant lady I'm just now posting it....REDIC!! Since then I have passed the three hour test with flying colors, and Brad did not take a personal day, and I did survive :) Haha!!

First Half of Spring Break 2010

I'm going to go ahead and confess that this is why I LOVE being a teacher (well one of the reasons).  It is SO nice for Brad and I to get to spend some time together since we're always so busy.  We started off the break by going to the beach with my WHOLE family and we had such a good time and the weather was absolutely FABULOUS...we were both sad to leave, oh the sacrifices we make as coaches' wives...

For the rest of the break Brad and I have lots of work to do around the house.  The nursery is painted, and most of the fabric for the bedding is in, but I plan on washing and organizing all of Emery's clothes before I have to go back to work, and doing a couple of craft projects for her room.  UH OH...did you catch that??? Baby girl officially has a name!!!! :)

After much deliberation and writing her name and all three of our names over and over and over again (I had to make sure that all of our names looked good together when I signed cards haha) and making sure that her initials didn't spell anything weird we finally decided that the name Emery Lynn would be good enough for our sweet baby girl.
