When our principal emailed out an invitation for us to participate in “Take your son or daughter to work day” I was all over it. I may or may not have run into one of my friend’s classrooms and jumped up and down. So, last Thursday Emery came to school with me (only until 10:30), and she was a huge hit. Actually that is the understatement of the year. She caused a major traffic jam in the hallway because all of my students were circling her while she sang to them, gave them pounds, sang, counted, and made silly faces. I was apprehensive that she may be scared of ALL of the big kids, but I should’ve known that my little social butterfly would not shy away from all of that attention. At one point during my planning period I was talking to one of coworkers, and Emery ran off. I assumed all doors were closed since it was class time, but I was wrong! I heard Emery yell “HEY GUYS”, and then I heard a bunch of laughter and then the door slam. Apparently she had run into the Spanish classroom and yelled hey to them, and then ran back out and slammed the door! haha She looked like such a big girl walking down the hall with her backpack on. She insisted on wearing it to be like the “bid kids”.
I am so lucky to be this girls mama!!
