It was extra special because my best friend, Lindsey, has a newborn, Layna, who was also dedicated that night...so thankful to be experiencing this season of life with her!!
2 sets of best friends
As you know (or may not know...)last December my great grandmother, Nana, went to heaven. About a month before she passed away I told her that I was pregnant, and she was very excited, and told me I was going to have a little girl, she just knew it. Well, she was right. I know she would have LOVED Emery just as much as the rest of us do, but unfortunately she didn't ever get the chance to meet her. It was very special for me to have Emery wear a dress/petticoat that Nana had given to Haley and Riley, but they had never worn, so it was really like she had given it to Emery.
Love my little family of three :)
Emery's Uncle Ben gave her a brand new cross necklace, that she loves very much! He is such a sweet Uncle, and Emery looks cute in just her necklace :)
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be."

Thanksgiving...
We then went over to Brad's parents house for Thanksgiving with his side of the family. Aunt Ramona did not disappoint with her corn pudding, and neither did Boo with her sausage dip, nor did Lauren with the ever delicious pumpkin dump cake!! I always try to eat lots of those three things, because its something that we don't have, or have differently at my family's Thanksgiving meal. Again, strategy people, strategy :) And again, I digress food has a way of doing that to me...After eating the girls all sit around and peruse the sales ads (like I actually thought I would be early morning shopping with a 5 month old at home, and like I actually thought I had the money to do any shopping...haha). While we do this, the boys...well actually I'm not sure what the boys do...I think Uncle Terry fixes anything that has broken since the last time he's been to Boo and Alan's and the rest of them probably just unbutton their pants and watch some football?? Who knows...And then we head down to the lake...for Thanksgiving with my family.I can always be sure that Grandbess will have the most grandiose table of all on any holiday, and this year was no exception. How beautiful is that?
As part of our blessing, we all hold hands and say what we are thankful for.
This year I said I was thankful (obviously for Emery) for parents and grandparents who have shown me by example what it means to be a good parent. You can always guarantee that Dad and Mom will tear up, Haley will say I'm not sure, then eventually come out with an I'm thankful for Jake (yes, he is the family pet), Grandbud will complain about being hungry yet know he has no choice but to go along (and I think secretly enjoy this tradition), and Grandbess will roll her eyes :)
Predictable, predictable...And then we will eat, and talk about memories from past thanksgivings, and laugh...and this year we cried a little and were a little sad that this was our first Thanksgiving without Nana. Then the boys go watch football, and the ladies stay huddled around the island and talk, every once in awhile having to go tell the kids to stop wresting, or to not be so loud. More memories are made, to talk about next year...
Yes, Thanksgiving is still my favorite holiday, and not just because the food is good either, even though it is good, so so good :)
5 Months, and Twin Day??
-You LOVE LOVE LOVE to eat, and girlfriend I have to tell you...you get that honest :)
-The reaction you give me when I walk in the room absolutely melts my heart...you will get your hands and legs going and smile and laugh at me...makes my heart very happy!
-You have started to pull yourself up to sitting, and you can sit up unsupported for a little while now.
-You love to play in your exersaucer, and jump all around.
-Still no teeth, but baby girl you are trying very very hard!
-You love to talk (just like your Mommy and Daddy), and you will squeal and babble you have said mama and dada, but on total and complete coincidence-as much as I would like to convince myself that you're talking to me :)
-In the mornings Daddy and I know you are awake when we hear a loud thud from your room coming from you throwing both of your legs in the air, and dropping them VERY quickly onto your mattress, which is quickly followed by your sweet babbling and squealing. I love going in to get you in the mornings...best part of my day...BY FAR!!
Also...Emery and I (and by that I mean I :) ) decided that we should be twins for church on Sunday, I tried to get Brad to wear a gray sweater too, but he literally laughed at me when I requested that :)
